About Us
The Lighthouse has been serving victims and survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault in Baldwin County and the surrounding communities for more than three decades. What began as a small effort founded by a group of concerned citizens, people who wanted to create a safe place for women escaping dangerous situations, has grown into a comprehensive, trauma‑informed agency. From those early days with a two or three person team, The Lighthouse has expanded into a fully trained staff of fifteen who provide supportive services, court advocacy, prevention education, and professional training. We remain committed to being a steady source of safety and hope, with services available 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, so no one has to face crisis or healing alone.
Alongside our staff, we are supported by a dedicated Board of Directors who help guide the agency, extend our mission, and strengthen our outreach through leadership, representation, and fundraising. Our board is made up of community members who share a commitment to making a meaningful difference in the place we all call home. Together, our staff and board work to ensure that survivors are met with compassion, dignity, and the resources they need to move forward.
